Italian Fashion Week is an event organized to promote Italian design and Made In Italy. Appreciated and valued the world over, Italian fashion and Style is has inspired countless designers and stylists. During Italian Week, Italian born designer Elio Marzullo owner and creative director of the label Elio Moda showcases Italian designs and Italian Inspired works from designers such as Subfusco and emerging stylists from Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE, fashion who have created a range of Italian Inspired designs.

Fatima Scialdone performing at the Launch of Italian Fashion Week
Direct from Italy and supported by the Italian Embassy in Canberra, Italian Week is proud to present Fatima Scialdone, a truly international phenomenon who has toured extensively around the world. Born in Gaeta, a beautiful peninsula near the Amalfi Coast, Fatima is a Graduate of the National Academy of Dramatic arts in Rome and is the quintessential Italian Diva, her versatility is apparent as she has studied classical and modern ballet, the waltz, the polka, the flamenco. When singing, Fatima uses several languages including Italian, French, English, and German and can sing and play using the dialects spoken in Naples and Sicily. Where:- Queen Street Mall Stage

Jaider De Oliveira performing at the Opening of Italian Fashion Week
Jaider De Oliveira, singer, producer, performer, guitarist, percussionist, teacher and entertainer. There are not many who can evoke such passion from an inanimate object in the manner Jaider does in such tracks as "Baiao for you" from his first CD "Samba Down Under" Over these last 3 years, Jaider has spent considerable amount of time in Brazil studying and recording, during this time completed his lastest album 'Alegria Instrumental ' which means 'Instrumental happiness' a title that was inspired by relationships he has had with his musician friends and fellow artists. Jaider has teamed up with Roberto Nobilia to create new sounds for Italian Fashion Week.

Roberto Nobilia performing at the Opening of Italian Fashion Week
Australian born Roberto Nobilia Robert has written and recorded many albums, including the work of ‘Stark’ which is the collaboration between himself and musician/producer Lindsay Askew who plays guitar and bass on the many ‘ClubDred Studios’ recordings that span over 8 years. Rather than having been influenced by certain bands or a particular genre, Robert drew inspiration from various modern popular songs that capture the essence of character and emotional tone and that reflect the voice and mood of the times. For the launch of Italian Fashion Week in Brisbane, Roberto is performing with Jaider De Oliveira to create a new and vibrant sound to compliment the energy of this vibrant event.

Highlights of Romeo and Juliet. Radio 4MBS in conjunction with Italian Week presents highlights of Romeo and Juliet. William Shakespeare most famous ‘couple’ come together in spite of the from the unlikely rivalry of the Montague’s and Capulet’s. During Italian week see scenes from the "balcony scene", Romeo sneaks into the Capulet courtyard and overhears Juliet on her balcony vowing her love to him. See the famous swordfight scene and be enthralled by Italian Passion and Romance. It was among Shakespeare's most popular plays during his lifetime and, along with Hamlet, is one of his most frequently performed plays. Today, the title characters are regarded as archetypal young lovers.
